چکیده
Objective: To measure the sagittal changes in maxilla via angular change point A with Sella Nasion plane and incisor to palatal before (T1) after (T2) rapid expansion bonded expander.
 Study Design: Quasi-experimental study.
Place Duration of Study: Armed Forces Institute Dentistry Rawalpindi Pakistan, from Feb 2017 Jan 2018.
Methodology: 30 patients both male female presenting orthodontics department AFID between ages 9 12 years, transverse maxillary deficiency were given a hyrax appliance an activation schedule 2 turns per day, retention period was months followed by further removable plate. Two cone beam computerized tomography evaluations done. One pre-expansion other (T2).
 Results: children 16 males (53%) 14 females (47%) mean age 11.03 ± 0.76 years studied showing that pre-treatment post-treatment value changed insignificantly 77.03 2.81 77.2 3.02and 1 111.82 5.74 110.8 5.80. Paired sample t-test results confirmed statistically insignificant 1to Palatal Plane.
Conclusion: Following expander growing location dimension inclination following affected hence clinically.

Evaluation of alveolar bone loss following rapid maxillary expansion using cone-beam computed tomography
OBJECTIVE To evaluate the changes in cortical bone thickness, alveolar bone height, and the incidence of dehiscence and fenestration in the surrounding alveolar bone of posterior teeth after rapid maxillary expansion (RME) treatment using cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT). METHODS The CBCT records of 20 subjects (9 boys, mean age: 13.97 ± 1.17 years; 11 girls, mean age: 13.53 ± 2.12 year) ...

OBJECTIVE The goal of this project was to define and measure human airway space with radiographic volumetric 3-dimensional imaging and digital reconstruction of the pharynx using cone-beam computerized tomography. STUDY DESIGN This was a randomized retrospective study. Ten patient scans were selected randomly from a pool of 196 subjects seeking dental treatment at the University of California...
متن کاملPeriodontal effects of surgically assisted rapid palatal expansion evaluated clinically and with cone-beam computerized tomography: 6-month preliminary results.
INTRODUCTION Transverse maxillary deficiency is frequently observed in patients who seek orthodontic treatment. In skeletally mature patients, transverse maxillary deficiency can be treated with surgically assisted rapid palatal expansion (SARPE). Forces delivered by the expander produce areas of compression in the periodontal ligament, which could lead to alveolar bone resorption and possible ...
متن کاملGorham’s Disease of the Maxilla and Mandible With Distinctive Cone Beam Computerized Tomographic Features
Gorham’s disease is a rare and atypical disorder epitomized by progressive osteolysis of bone with eventual total disappearance of bone. The etiology is poorly understood with variable clinical presentation. Most times it is initially misdiagnosed as temporomandibular joint dysfunction, periodontal disease or odontogenic tumors clinically and radiographical...
متن کاملAn assessment of the maxilla after rapid maxillary expansion using cone beam computed tomography in growing children
INTRODUCTION With the advent of cone beam computed tomography (CBCT), it is now possible to quantitatively evaluate the effects of rapid maxillary expansion (RME) on the entire maxillary complex in growing patients. OBJECTIVE The purpose of this study is to use three-dimensional images to evaluate the displacement that occurs at the circummaxillary sutures (frontonasal, zygomaticomaxillary, i...
